Abstract
To protect against masquerade and replay attacks for real-time distributed systems, several security mechanisms can be applied to authenticate messages. However, authentication induces additional overhead, and messages may miss their deadlines due to adding authentication bits. In this work, we consider time-delayed release of keys on a Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) based protocol and solve the mapping problem to satisfy all design constraints.
